Fenlara watched it fall. She had to act now or it would all be over. Recalling Trendal’s advice, the young duke brought her foot up, kicking as hard as she could. It was a cheap shot, but there was no such thing as cheating when death was on the line.

Teddy doubled over, abandoning his strike. His hands cupped his growing and he moaned, cursing the unexpected pain.

It didn’t last long, but it bought her the time she needed. Fenlara launched herself over the cliff, using her overcharged abilities to stabilize her. She wasn’t flying in the traditional sense. Rather she was falling with the absence of gravity, using minute bursts of energy to direct her. That was the only benefit to everything being connected at this one place. The known laws of physics didn’t apply when the world was unstable. Hovering a few feet out, Fenlara knew what she had to do. She was a duke. She had to fix this as best she could. “Teddy, Duke Tarset of the Second Order, you have been found guilty of tampering with time and must pay the consequences. Surrender now and I will see you have a fair trial, to be judged by your peers. Deny and you will suffer the wrath of time!”
